At the Paris 2024 Olympics, Sophie Capewell, alongside Emma Finucane and Katy Marchant, won gold in the women’s team sprint, whilst setting a new world record of 45.186 seconds - the first Olympic gold for Great Britain in this event. In 2024, she also helped secure a team sprint world title, the first British world championship victory in this event since 2008.
